NCAAM: No. 18 Villanova knocks off No. 1 Kansas

PHILADELPHIA, PA- In a low-scoring, defensive battle it was No. 18 Villanova knocking off No. 1 Kansas 56-55 at Wells Fargo Center.

Jermaine Samuels and Colin Gillespie combined for 27 points to lead Nova (9-2) who shot only 34.9% from the floor.

Kansas (9-2) shot 43.6% from the floor and made only 3/13 three-point attempts. Sophomore guard Devon Dotson was one of three Jayhawks in double-figure scoring with 15 points.

With the defeat, Kansas will drop from the top spot in the rankings. Gonzaga is now expected to be the sixth No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 this season.

NCAA Men's Basketball AP Top 25 Poll Week 7

The Associated Press updated the NCAA Men's Basketball Top 25 Poll today. The rankings have turned completely upside down this week, as Louisville fell to Texas Tech and Ohio State lost to Minnesota. Had the Buckeyes won that game, they would've been ranked No. 1. That opened the door for the 9-1 Kansas Jayhawks who are the new No. 1.
