CHAPEL HILL, NC- The Wofford Terriers came into Carmichael Arena and stunned No. 17 North Carolina 68-64 this afternoon.
Wofford (7-4) was led by the duo of Trevor Stumpe and Storm Murphy who combined for 34 points. Messiah Jones notched 13 points off the bench.
This is the Terriers second win in three years over the Tar Heels. Wofford pulled ahead in the second-half with a 16-0 run in which they made four three-pointers.
UNC (6-4) played without starters Cole Anthony (right knee) and Leaky Black (sprained right foot). Garrison Brooks led the way with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds.
This was the first regular-season game at Carmichael Arena since Jan. 4th, 1986. This is the Heels third straight loss, and it won't get any easier as they travel to Spokane, WA on Wednesday night to face No. 6 Gonzaga.
