EUGENE, OR- Freshman guard Jaz Shelley scored a career-high 32 points, as No. 3 Oregon beat UC-Riverside 84-41 today at Matthew Knight Arena.

Shelley hit a single-game school record ten three-pointers. The Aussie got her first career start as junior forward Satou Sabally was sitting out.

"We had our ups and downs." "With Satou out, we just had to get used to the lineup — but Jaz fit in quite well. Once we got our legs under us, and stopped hearing all those kids screaming, we were able to get in a rhythm.""She puts in a lot of work, and with that comes rewards." Oregon guard Sabrina Ionescu

Sabrina Ionescu recorded her 20th career triple-double, as she scored 16 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and dished out 12 assists. The triple-double was a bit overshadowed by Shelley's big afternoon. "It's not often," said Ducks coach Kelly Graves, "that you can overshadow a triple-double of 16 points, 18 rebounds and 12 assists."

Ruthy Hebard added 12 points in 24 minutes for UO, who improves to 9-1 overall with the win. Prior to the game, Ionescu and Hebard were presented with souvenir basketballs to commemorate passing 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds respectively.

Jannon Otto led UC-Riverside (3-8)  with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Highlanders next play on Thursday at Southern Utah.

For the Ducks it is on to Kansas State who they host Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET

Some opted to play overseas. For whatever reason, we have seen that the college route is not for every player. Knowing this, the NBA stepped through their development league. In the fall of 2018, the NBA G League announced Select Contracts of $125,000 for elite recruits, including opportunities for basketball development, life skills and academic scholarship starting with the 2019-2020 season. With all of that said, no players from the graduating class of 2019 opted to take part. So the G League set their sights on the class of 2020. As more schools across the country have been exposed in the FBI's investigation into college basketball recruiting, the G League has made their pitch: play and get paid fairly. On April 16, 2020, the G League announced a raised salary for prospects and a one-year development pro
