NCAAW: No. 17 Gonzaga holds off No. 20 Missouri State at home

SPOKANE, WA- No. 17 Gonzaga and No. 20 Missouri State met yesterday in an anticipated Top 25 showdown of two of the best mid-major programs in the country. When it was all said and done it was Gonzaga winning 64-52.

Jenn Wirth had a 14 point, 7 rebound afternoon to lead Gonzaga (11-1). Katie Campbell added 11 points for a Zags team whose only loss came to No. 1 Stanford in November.

Brice Calip and Alexa Willard combined for 26 points to pace Missouri State (9-2). Despite the loss, the Bears will hold a spot in the Top 25 next week.

Both teams were nearly identical in every stat category: 7/10 on free throws, 39 rebounds apiece. However, the difference was field goal percentage. GU shot 45.0% and Missouri State shot only 34.4% from the floor.

NCAA Men's Basketball AP Top 25 Poll Week 7

The Associated Press updated the NCAA Men's Basketball Top 25 Poll today. The rankings have turned completely upside down this week, as Louisville fell to Texas Tech and Ohio State lost to Minnesota. Had the Buckeyes won that game, they would've been ranked No. 1. That opened the door for the 9-1 Kansas Jayhawks who are the new No. 1.
