#1 seed Michigan got a win over #9 seed St. Louis 95-72 to advance to the Sweet 16.

Leading the scoring for the wolverines was Yaxel Lendeborg with 25 points, Aday Mara had 16 and Morez Johnson Jr had 15.

For St. Louis, Amari McCottry led the way with 14 points and Dion Brown had 13.

Michigan went 16/31 from the free throw line and outrebounded St. Louis 40-24.

Michigan will play #4 seed Alabama in the Sweet 16, while the Billikens season ends at 29-6.

NBA: Kings demolish Hornets 140-110

The Sacramento Kings demolished the Charlotte Hornets 140-110 at home last night. It was a balanced effort for the Kings led by Buddy Hield with 26 points, Richaun Homes had 23, D'Aaron Fox with 21, Davion Mitchell the rookie with 19, and Harrison Barnes with 14. The Hornets were paced by LaMelo Ball with 24 points, and Gordon Hayward with 25. The Kings improve to 5-4 and the Hornets drop to 5-5.

NCAAM: 2022 5-Star SF Emoni Bates commits to Michigan State

2022 5-Star SF Emoni Bates has committed to Michigan State. Bates is the No. 1 ranked player in the HoopsCentral50 and is a huge pickup for Tom Izzo and staff. With Bates set to graduate high school in the summer of 2022, he could have a chance to jump straight to the NBA if the one-and-done rule is gone by then. Bates is super versatile at 6'7, and looks like a smaller version of Kevin Durant, with his ability to rise over defenders on his jumpers, drive and defend with his length. Bates held other offers from Kentucky, Michigan, Florida State and DePaul.

RECRUITING: 2022 5-Star PF Sadraque Nganga Drops Top 11

5-Star PF Sadraque Nganga, the 16th ranked player in the class of 2022 according to 247Sports, has announced his Top 11 schools. Still in the mix are Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Arizona, Memphis, Illinois, Auburn, Arizona State, Georgia, Oklahoma and Saint Mary's. He is one of the more complete post players in the nation. He can back in and score from the post like a traditional throwback, but he is continuing to step further out from the basket and shoot, mainly from the midrange area.
