Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2022 5-Star CG claims new offers

Skyy Clark, the No. 18 overall player and No. 2 combo guard in the 2022 class per the 247Sports composite has been offered by Memphis and Georgetown. Like many 2022 prospects, Clark is building his offer list which has grown substantially in the last few months. The 2022 class is loaded with top talent, especially in California. Clark, who stars at Heritage Christian in Northridge, is the fourth ranked player in the state. Kijani Wright, Dior Johnson and Amari Bailey are the top three, and are all ranked in the top ten. UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Florida State, Auburn, Eastern Washington and others have offered early on.

The Associated Press updated the NCAA Women's Basketball AP Top 25 Poll today. UConn is ranked No. 1 for the second straight week and sit at 10-0 overall. The Associated Press updated the NCAA Men's Basketball Top 25 Poll today. Gonzaga is again ranked No. 1 this week. . The Bulldogs are 13-1 overall and have won five straight games. NCAAM: No. 22 West Virginia upsets No. 2 Ohio State on the road

COLUMBUS, OH- The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes were upset earlier today by No. 22 West Virginia 67-59 at Quicken Loans Arena. Miles McBride came off the bench and notched 21 points to lead West Virginia (11-1). The Mountaineers fell behind by six at the end of the first half, but were +14 in the second half. They allowed only 15 made field goals and forced 22 turnovers. Ohio State (11-2), was led by Kaleb Wesson who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds in 36 minutes. With the win, WV will likely move into the top fifteen of the rankings, while Ohio State will drop out of the top five but remain in the top ten of the AP Top 25.

Men's Basketball Recruiting: Duke watches 2021 5-Star SF Jonathan Kuminga

Duke assistant coaches Nate James and Chris Carrawell watched 2021 5-Star SF Jonathan Kuminga, the No. 1 overall player in the 247Sports composite last night at the John Wall Holiday Invitational in Raleigh, NC. In a 83-76 win over Farmville Central (NC), Kuminga scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for The Patrick School (NJ). The Celtics are ranked third by USA Today and will face No. 1 Montverde Academy (FL) tomorrow for the John Wall Holiday Invitational title. Kuminga has Duke included in his top ten list, which also features Kentucky, Memphis and others.

Men's Basketball Recruiting: Xavier extends offers to top North Carolina prospects

Xavier has extended scholarship offers to 2021 4-Star SF Dontrez Styles and 2022 5-Star PG Jaden Bradley. Both play in North Carolina, with Styles starring at Kinston High School, who produced Brandon Ingram, and Bradley runs the show at Cannon School in Concord. Styles is 107th overall ranked player and 26th best small forward in the 247Sports composite, and holds other offers from Clemson, Pittsburgh, NC State and others. Bradley is the 7th ranked overall player and No. 1 point guard in the 247Sports composite and is starting to build one of the best offer lists in the 2022 class. Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Auburn and others have already offered.

NCAAW: No. 2 Oregon routs D-II Corban in exhibition game

EUGENE, OR- The No. 2 Oregon Ducks took the floor today to face Corban (D-II), and won 125-42 at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks got out to a 9-0 lead which then ballooned to 21-5 after the first five minutes. Quarter two began with UO up 33-10. Eight different Ducks scored in the second frame which ended with back-to-back three-pointers from Sabrina Ionescu. Coming out of the locker room, Oregon continued to pour it on, outscoring Corban 40-7. They then finished it off with a 23-5 edge in the fourth quarter. Six Ducks were in double-figure scoring: Ruthy Hebard (24), Satou Sabally (23), Erin Boley, Jaz Shelley (15), Sabrina Ionescu (14, and Minyon Moore (11). Oregon opens Pac-12 conference play on Friday as they host Colorado.

NCAAM: #19 Kentucky defeats #3 Louisville in OT

(Photo by Mark Zerof/USA Today Sports) LEXINGTON, KY- The No. 19 Kentucky Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak with a 78-70 overtime win over No. 3 Louisville yesterday at Rupp Arena. Freshman guard Tyrese Maxey scored a career-high 27 points to lead UK (9-3) who also got double-figure scoring from Immanuel Quickley (18 points), and Nick Richards (13 points, 10 rebounds). The Wildcats hit 7/15 three-pointers, and 21/25 free throws. For Louisville (11-2), it was a different story. They made only 7/27 triples and 9/20 free throws. Steven Enoch scored 18 points to lead Louisville. Dwyane Sutton, who played 43 of 45 minutes had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams next play on Jan. 4th as Kentucky hosts Missouri and Louisville hosts Florida State.

NBA: Kawhi Leonard named 2019 AP Male Athlete of the Year

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has been named AP Male Athlete of the Year for 2019. He won the vote over Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tennis star Rafael Nadal, and regning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. Leonard is the fifth NBA player to win the award, joining Larry Bird (1986), Michael Jordan (1991-1993), LeBron James (2013, 2016, 2018) and Stephen Curry (2015). Gymnast Simone Biles is the women's recipient for 2019. Last season, Leonard led the Toronto Raptors to their first NBA title, defeating the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors.  He averaged 30.5 points and 9.1 rebounds in the postseason.

NCAAM: Maryland's Mitchell twins enter transfer portal

COLLEGE PARK, MD- Twin brothers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell are leaving the Maryland men's basketball team and have entered the transfer portal. Makhi averaged 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds, and Makhel averaged 1.0 points in 12 games this season. They in a joint statement said: "We want to thank coach Turgeon for the opportunity to attend the University of Maryland. We are extremely appreciative of our time in College Park, but decided it was best to seek new opportunity." Terrapins coach Mark Turgeon said:  "I want to thank Makhel and Makhi for their contributions to the program. This was a decision we felt was best for both sides and we wish them and their family the best moving forward," Turgeon said in a press release.

2021 5-Star Kennedy Chandler, the No. 15 overall prospect and 2nd ranked point guard in the 247Sports composite has picked up an offer from Kentucky. The Briarcrest Christian (TN) standout continues to see his recruitment grow, he has picked up recent offers from Duke and North Carolina. He is a skilled lead guard who has an extremely good handle, and is balanced in his ability to drive to the basket and to go outside for the triple. He has taken official visits to Tennessee, Syracuse, and Ole Miss. He will next check out Florida State, Michigan and Duke (unofficial) in the new year.

NCAAM: Houston wins 2019 Diamond Head Classic with win over No. 21 Washington

HONOLULU, HI- The Houston Cougars took the 2019 Diamond Head Classic title with a 75-71 win over No. 21 Washington on Christmas Day. Houston fell behind by five at the end of the first half, but took control as the game went on, outscoring UW 44-35. Caleb Mills and Fabian White, Jr. scored 19 points apiece, and Kansas transfer Quentin Grimes added 14 points. The Cougars won the battle on the glass 37-31, hit 17/18 free throws and forced 15 turnovers. Houston coach Kelvin Sampson: “We just kept chipping and chipping and chipping, but that’s a really good team.” “Early in the game they were hitting everything - easy shots, hard shots, medium shots - they were running it down our throat.”  “I was really proud of our young guys. NBA Christmas Day Recap

On a very busy Christmas Day, we had all day NBA action with five games. Here, we will recap them at length. Boston Celtics 118, Toronto Raptors 102: Boston held the lead nearly the entire game, they out-rebounded and out-shot Toronto, and had the best player on the floor yesterday in Jaylen Brown. In 35 minutes, Brown scored 30 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. All five of Boston's starters scored in double-figures. Fred VanVleet led the Raptors with 27 points and 4 rebounds. Philadelphia 76ers 121, Milwaukee Bucks 109: Joel Embiid was a beast for Philly, scoring 31 points, and pulling down 11 rebounds. The entire game he defended reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and did more than hold his own. Giannis had 18 and 14, but struggled to shoot all game. 2020 5-Star PF Greg Brown, the No. 8 overall prospect and No. 1 power forward in the 247Sports composite has announced his top five list. The Vandegrift (TX) star is now down to Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, Texas, and Auburn. Brown has already visited Texas and Auburn on official visits and will visit Kentucky and Memphis in January. At 6'9 and 195 lbs, Brown is a terrific finisher in the open floor and in the post. His jumper is coming along and is extremely athletic. Texas holds 100% of the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions.

Bradley, who stars at Cannon School in Concord, NC is well built for the position at 6'2, and 160 lbs. He is a threat to score from the midrange area and from behind the arc, he finishes on his drives to the basket, and is a good defender. He holds early offers from Texas Tech, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Wake Forest, Alabama, and DePaul. Kentucky and North Carolina are also showing interest.

Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2020 4-Star F Terrence Williams sets Michigan official visit

2020 4-Star PF Terrance Williams, the No. 83 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite has set an official visit to Michigan. He will trek to Ann Arbor Dec. 28th-30th. The Wolverines hold commitments in the 2020 class from 5-Star PF Isaiah Todd, and 4-Star's Hunter Dickinson and Zeb Jackson. Along with Michigan, Notre Dame and UCLA appear to be the leaders. Back on Dec. 5th he decommitted from Georgetown. A standout at Gonzaga (DC), he is a strongly built four-man who can score in the low-post and runs from rim to rim very well.

James Wiseman: "The Saga"

In this feature, James Wiseman: The Saga, we will examine everything that happened in what was quite the whirlwind. Surprising as it may sound, it all started back on August 21st, 2008, when now Tigers coach Penny Hardaway made a $1 million donation to the University of Memphis where he starred in the 1990's. That move made him a booster for the school. Wiseman, entering high school was considered one of the best players in the class of 2019. He started his high school career at The Ensworth School in Nashville, TN. After his freshman season, he played with the St. Louis Eagles AAU program on the Nike EYBL circut. Texas, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama among others extended scholarship offers. After his sophomore year at Ensworth, Wiseman switched AAU teams, leaving the St. Loui

NCAAM: Isaiah Stewart posts double-double, #21 Washington beats Hawaii

HONOLULU, HI- The #21 Washington Huskies faced the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the semi-finals of the 2019 Diamond Head Classic. They were tested, but got the win 72-61 when it was all said and done. Freshman Isaiah Stewart scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead UW (10-2). The backcourt duo of Quade Green and Nazaiah Carter combined for 21 points. The Huskies assisted on 12 of 24 made field goals and forced 16 turnovers while shooting 21/29 from the free throw line. Justin Webster led Hawaii (8-4) with 16 points off the bench. Starting forward Zigmars Raimo had a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds. Washington faces Houston in the championship game tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

NCAAM: South Carolina shocks No. 9 Virginia

Jair Bolden scored 22 points to lead the Gamecocks (8-4). Sophomore A.J. Lawson added 14 points. SC held Virginia to 43.9% shooting, and forced 19 turnovers. This is the Gamecocks first win over a top ten team since 2016 when they knocked off No. 8 Texas A&M. Mamadi Diakite scored 21 points to lead Virginia (9-2). The Cavs host Navy next Sunday. South Carolina hosts Stetson next Monday.

NCAAW: Texas upsets No. 1 Stanford

Charli Collier led Texas (7-4) with a dominant 20 point, 19 rebound afternoon. Joyner Holmes and Sug Sutton added another 25 points. This is the Longhorns first win against an AP No. 1 team since 2004. Stanford still leads the all-time series 8-5. Texas coach Karen Aston: I think that our team had a confidence about themselves that we started the game with, but, the thing that I'm most proud of is they're beginning to learn how to play 40 minutes. They reset themselves when things don't go well. They're learning to help each other and not depend on the coaches as much. I think that's where we've sort of turned the corner. NBA: Harden drops 47, Rockets beat Suns

PHOENIX, AZ- James Harden scored 47 points as the Houston Rockets defeated the Phoenix Suns 139-125 on the road. Harden scored those 47 points in 34 minutes of action. Russell Westbrook added 30 points and 10 assists. Houston hit 51/87 from the floor, and 19/41 from three-point range. Kelly Oubre, Jr. led six players in double-figure scoring with 26 points. Phoenix is now 11-18 overall and in the 11th spot in the West standings. Houston is 20-9 overall and have won their last three games. They are four games out of the top spot in the West standings.

NCAAM: No. 5 Ohio State edges out No. 6 Kentucky at CBS Sports Classic

Sylvanie/USA Today Sports)  LAS VEGAS, NV- In a battle of top ten teams, #5 Ohio State defeated #6 Kentucky 71-65 as part of the CBS Sports Classic. DJ Carton scored 15 pointsto lead the OSU (11-1). Kyle Young and Kaleb Wesson scored 10 points apiece. The Buckeyes hit 22/44 from the floor, out-rebounded UK 33-25, and forced the Wildcats into 11 turnovers. Kentucky (8-3) was led by Bucknell grad transfer Nate Sestina who scored 17 points. The Buckeyes are back in action on Dec. 29th when they host #25 West Virginia. As for UK, they face No. 3 Louisville next Saturday at Rupp Arena.

NCAAM: North Carolina defeats UCLA at CBS Sports Classic

Armando Bacot had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels (7-5). Freshman Anthony Harris scored 14 points, and the trio of Garrison Brooks, Brandon Robinson and Jeremiah Francis scored 12 points apiece. UNC hit 22/35 free throws and forced UCLA into 22 turnovers. The Bruins (7-5) were led by Jaime Jaquez, Jr. who scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Heels are back in action on Dec. 30th when they host Yale.

NCAAW: Sabrina Ionescu records 21st career triple-double, No. 3 Oregon handles Kansas State

EUGENE, OR- Sabrina Ionescu recorded her 21st career triple-double as No. 3 Oregon raced past Kansas State 89-51 today at Matthew Knight Arena. It was a 21 point, 11 rebound, 10 assist day for Ionescu who led Oregon (10-1) in scoring for the second time in three games.  Erin Boley and Satou Sabally were also in double-figure scoring with 18 and 14 points respectively. Oregon had a 50% shooting game, and went 18/24 from the free-throw line. Peyton Williams scored 20 points to lead Kansas State (5-5). Oregon next plays a week from today against Corban (NAIA) in an exhibition game.  

Men's Basketball Recruiting: 2020 4-Star C Hunter Dickinson commits to Michigan

2020 4-Star Hunter Dickinson, the No. 34 overall prospect and the No. 6 center has committed to Michigan. A standout out of DeMatha Catholic (MD), Dickinson chose the Wolverines over Duke, Notre Dame, and Florida State. At 7'2, Dickinson towers over most of his opponents. He is a strong finisher in the post and can step out and hit the three with ease. He joins 5-Star PF Isaiah Todd and 4-Star guard Zeb Jackson in the Wolverines 2020 recruiting class.

NCAAM: No. 18 Villanova knocks off No. 1 Kansas

Jermaine Samuels and Colin Gillespie combined for 27 points to lead Nova (9-2) who shot only 34.9% from the floor. Kansas (9-2) shot 43.6% from the floor and made only 3/13 three-point attempts. Sophomore guard Devon Dotson was one of three Jayhawks in double-figure scoring with 15 points. With the defeat, Kansas will drop from the top spot in the rankings. Gonzaga is now expected to be the sixth No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 this season.

NCAAW: No. 17 Gonzaga holds off No. 20 Missouri State at home

When it was all said and done it was Gonzaga winning 64-52. Jenn Wirth had a 14 point, 7 rebound afternoon to lead Gonzaga (11-1). Katie Campbell added 11 points for a Zags team whose only loss came to No. 1 Stanford in November. Brice Calip and Alexa Willard combined for 26 points to pace Missouri State (9-2). Despite the loss, the Bears will hold a spot in the Top 25 next week. Both teams were nearly identical in every stat category: 7/10 on free throws, 39 rebounds apiece. However, the difference was field goal percentage. GU shot 45.0% and Missouri State shot only 34.4% from the floor.

NCAAM: Utah upsets No. 6 Kentucky in Vegas

Utah (9-2) was paced by Timmy Allen who scored 25 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in all 40 minutes of action. Utes coach Larry Krystowiak: “Everyone has a different perspective looking at our program, and the only thing, it’s the same thing we talk to our team about, there’s social media and there’s pressure from outside because everybody has opinions.” “The only people whose opinion people need to worry about is the coaching staff, teammates, our inner circle. A big key for the Utes was three-point shooting. Utah hit 8/15 attempts while UK was only 2/17 from downtown. Freshman guard Tyrese Maxey led Kentucky (8-2) with 18 points. Both teams have huge games coming up on Saturday. Utah hosts No. 20 San Diego State, and Kentucky will stay in Vegas to play No. 5 Ohio State as part of the CBS Sports Classic.

NCAAM: James Wiseman to leave Memphis, prepare for NBA Draft

Possible No. 1 pick James Wiseman has withdrawn from Memphis and prepare for the 2020 NBA Draft. Wiseman took to Instagram to announce his decision: "Ever since I was a little kid, it's been a dream of mine to play in the NBA. This was not how I expected my freshman season to be, but I'm thankful for everyone who has supported my family and me throughout this process." Women's Basketball Recruiting: UConn lands 2022 5-Star

2022 5-Star post player Isuneh Brady, the No. 3 overall prospect in the espnW Terrific 25 has committed to UConn. After signing only two players in the class of 2019, UConn has signed five for 2020, and now have three players verbally committed for 2021 and 2022. Brady is   an  efficient low-post performer who can post-up and score, take contact, and run from rim to rim.

2020 McDonald's All-American Games to be played in Houston

The 2020 McDonald's All-American Games will be played in Houston, TX after two years in Atlanta, GA. The news was first reported by USA Today. The boys and girls games will be played on April 1st at the Toyota Center, home of the NBA's Houston Rockets. McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee Co-Chairman  Joe Wootten: “The McDonald’s All American Games has a long history of celebrating the top high school basketball players from across the country and we cannot wait to bring this prestigious event to the passionate hoops fanbase in Houston.”  “The boys and girls we select will leave their mark on basketball history and become a part of an alumni group that includes some of the best basketball players to take the court.” The final rosters will be announced in late January. The games will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2.

NCAAM: UNC guard Cole Anthony to miss 4-6 weeks following knee surgery

Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams:  "Obviously not having a player of Cole's caliber will be a tremendous challenge to our young team, but we have to play." "No one player is going to replace the production Cole Anthony gives us, so it's up to everyone who puts on a North Carolina jersey to raise his game and help our team play better." In nine games Anthony averaged 19.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He is No. 4 in the ESPN NBA draft rankings. North Carolina is 6-4 overall following a 68-64 loss to Wofford. They play tomorrow at No. 2 Gonzaga.

NCAAW: No. 2 UConn survives at No. 16 DePaul

CHICAGO, IL- The No. 2 UConn Huskies traveled to Chicago last night to face No. 16 DePaul. It wasn't easy, but the got the win 84-74. Megan Walker and Crystal Dangerfield scored 22 points each as both played all 40 minutes. Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 19 points. UConn (9-0) leads the all-time series 16-1. DePaul (9-2) was led by Chante Stonewall who scored 21 points playing all 40 minutes. The Blue Demons were out-rebounded 50-28 and shot only 29/75 from the floor. DePaul loves to take the three-point shot, last night it was a struggle making 11/32 attempts. The Blue Demons face Loyola (IL) on Friday. UConn next plays on Sunday against Oklahoma.

NCAAM: Wofford stuns No. 17 North Carolina 68-64

CHAPEL HILL, NC- The Wofford Terriers came into Carmichael Arena and stunned No. 17 North Carolina 68-64 this afternoon. Wofford (7-4) was led by the duo of Trevor Stumpe and Storm Murphy who combined for 34 points. Messiah Jones notched 13 points off the bench. This is the Terriers second win in three years over the Tar Heels. Wofford pulled ahead in the second-half with a 16-0 run in which they made four three-pointers. UNC (6-4) played without starters Cole Anthony (right knee) and Leaky Black (sprained right foot). Garrison Brooks led the way with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. This was the first regular-season game at Carmichael Arena since Jan. 4th, 1986. This is the Heels third straight loss, and it won't get any easier as they travel to Spokane, WA on Wednesday night to face No. 6 Gonzaga.

NCAAW: No. 11 Texas A&M routs in-state foe Houston

COLLEGE STATION, TX- The No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies improved to 9-1 on the season as they took down Houston 72-43 today. Chennedy Carter led a balanced attack for A&M scoring 23 points, Ciera Johnson had 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and N'dea Jones also had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Aggies assisted on 24 of 30 made field-goals and forced Houston into 21 turnovers for the game. Houston (5-6) made only 18/64 field-goals. Dorian Branch, Tatyana Hill, and Dymond Gladney all scored 10 points. After losing the first game of the all-time series in 2003, A&M has now won the last five. LEXINGTON, KY- At Memorial Colesium on the campus of the University of Kentucky, the No. 14 Wildcats took on No. 7 Louisville, and in a back and forth battle fell 67-66. Dana Evans led Louisville (10-1) with 18 points and 10 assists. Kylee Shook had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Jazmine Jones and Bionca Dunham had 10 points apiece. The Cardinals have now won the last four after losing the previous five. The Wildcats still lead the all-time series 34-21. Louisville rallied from a 55-45 third quarter deficit and held off Kentucky's Rhyne Howard who missed a three-pointer in the final seconds. Louisville next faces UT-Martin on Thursday, as Kentucky heads west to face Cal on Saturday.

NCAAW: Ionescu scores 21, No. 3 Oregon blows out Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, CA- Sabrina Ionescu scored a season-high 21 points, as No. 3 Oregon took down Long Beach State 81-45 on the road yesterday. Ionescu scored 15 of her 21 points in the first quarter, as the Ducks held a 31-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ionescu also had 12 rebounds to notch her 42nd career double-double and moves into the UO all-time top ten in rebounds and steals. Freshman Jaz Shelley scored 17 points and was the only other player in double-figure scoring for Oregon (8-1). The Ducks won the rebounding battle 38-17 and hit 10/27 three-point shots. Jasmine Hardy led Long Beach State (3-7) with 11 points. Oregon next plays on Monday at home against UC-Riverside.

NCAAM: No. 10 Oregon steals road win at No. 5 Michigan in OT

Payton Pritchard scored 23 points in 40 minutes to lead Oregon (8-2) who got their third win over a Top 25 team this season. New Mexico transfer Anthony Mathis got things going for the Ducks, hitting four three-point shots in the early going to get UO out to a 17-7 lead. Michigan (8-3) lost their third straight game with the defeat. Franz Wagner led the Wolverines with 21 points. Michigan corrected their first half mistakes in the second, scoring 40 points to get it to OT. In the extra period it was back and forth. Down 71-70, Michigan had a chance to win but Zavier Simpson and Brandon Johns both missed shots in the final seconds.

NCAAM: USC receives notice of allegations from the NCAA

The USC men's basketball team has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA, the school announced in a statement yesterday. The school said: “USC has received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA related to a former coach in the men’s basketball program.” “USC has cooperated with the NCAA since it first became aware of the issues raised in the Notice of Allegations. Because the notice involves a pending NCAA case, USC is unable to discuss any of the allegations in or facts relating to the case. USC looks forward to an expeditious resolution of this matter.” USC is the fourth D-I program to receive a notice of allegations tied to the FBI investigation  joining Kansas, Oklahoma State and NC State.

NBA: These Lakers are different

NCAAM: Galen Alexander, Myron Gardner transferring from Georgetown

Junior forward Galen Alexander and freshman forward Myron Gardner announced today their intent to transfer from Georgetown. Gardner announced his decision in a statement to the Washington Post, and Alexander announced on Twitter:  “With that being said, my family and I have decided that Georgetown is not the environment for me to successfully grow as both an individual and as a basketball player. With a heavy heart, I would like to announce that I am transferring from Georgetown University in hopes of finding a program that will help foster my success and allow my true potential as the person and player that I can become.” “My character has been defamed and that needs to be cleared up more than anything else. NBA to launch G Leauge team in Mexico City in 2020-2021

The NBA announced yesterday that the  Capitanes, a pro team competing in Mexico's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, will join the G League as the league's first club from outside the U.S./Canada starting play in the 2020-2021 season.
